Phase One:
The first phase of our project will be to travel to various Elks lodges meet with our participants. Our collection will focus on photography, but we will also use recorded interviews, digitized artifacts, and blogs to expand contextual information and allow our participants to facilitate the shape of their archive.
Phase Two:
In the second phase of our project, we will compile and construct a website and portal. By using the web, we will allow participants of the project the power to control the ultimate content of the archive, putting it back into the hands of its members. The archive we be viewable by the public, and will hopefully become a new space for discussion about the Elks to define their purpose with a new generation, generating a vested and continued interest.
